Pinning down the Buxton Fringe!
It's all hands to the pump here as we pull together the printed Fringe programme following our April 20th programme deadline. Some 150 entrants have come on board so we are delighted to be able to offer another vibrant, exciting Fringe with events in every category from dance to film and comedy to music, not to mention 'other events', a catch all title that barely hints at the crowd-pleasing attractions within.
While performers are busy rehearsing shows and printing their posters and flyers, we're not only working closely with our Fringe designer on the programme, but also organising marketing materials including fab new Fringe badges - to be available free at the Fringe desk - and two new pop up banners. Enormous, so I'm glad Keith's taken them away from my house for use at the Tourist Information centre and at the Green Man Gallery, where we will be having our programme launch on June 6. We're also working on various press releases - one aimed at national press and to be circulated by BAFA (British Arts Festivals Association), of which we are a proud member. Oh and I have a meeting with the Buxton Advertiser this Friday about their annual Festivals' supplement featuring an exclusive combined Buxton Festival and Fringe day-by-day diary and numerous features about both festivals.
May 5th will find Fringe committee members running a Fringe stand as part of the local Town Team's Spring Fair in Buxton. So do say hello if you are passing!
